Dr Jacqueline Evans BSc., (Hons), MB.BS (Hons), F.A.N.Z.C.A., F.F.P.M.A.N.Z.C.A., attained her degrees at the University of Queensland. She completed her medical degree from the University of Queensland in 2000. She completed her Intern Year at the Mater Hospital and attained the JH Lahz Prize for the best performing intern. Further residency was completed at the Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital. She completed anaesthetic specialist training in Queensland in 2013 before completing her Pain Medicine specialist training at the Professor Tess Cramond Multidisciplinary Pain Centre at the Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital in 2014. She has previously worked as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology registrar at the Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital from 2002 until 2005.
She works in public practice at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and is Supervisor of Training in Pain Medicine there. She has a special interest in cancer pain in young people and adults and has a Diploma in Palliative Medicine (Paediatrics) obtained at the Queensland Childrens’ Hospital. She is a Visiting Medical Officer at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane. Inpatient treatment is offered in conjunction with multidisciplinary care. Jacqueline is a Visiting Medical Officer at the outpatient pain program SKiP (Support Kids in Pain), a community-based pain program for young people. Jacqueline also refers patients to participate in the pain education programs for both adolescents and adults offered at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
Jacqueline has an interest in Bioethics and is currently completing a Masters in Bioethics at the University of Sydney.
