As an Associate Lecturer at University of Queensland, Sarah enjoys teaching medical students about psychotherapy and other areas of psychiatry. Sarah has also held a number of leadership positions associated the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry including President of the trainee association in Queensland for four years.
Sarah is committed to providing personalised and evidence-based assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults. Sarah enjoys all areas of psychiatry, and has a particular interest in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (Including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder including Aspergers) and Mood Disorders.

Dr Sarah Steele completed her Bachelor of Arts at University of Queensland, majoring in Psychology, in 1995. Following her studies she completed further training in Financial Planning and worked for Medico-Legal Insurance Group in Brisbane, before returning to University of Queensland to undertake a medical degree.
Sarah completed her medical degree in 2007 and her internship and residency at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in 2009. She then completed her psychiatric training at The Prince Charles Hospital, the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Mater Children’s Hospital and various community mental health centres across Brisbane.
During her time as a Psychiatry Trainee, Sarah was the Queensland President of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatric Trainees for four consecutive years. She was also active within the College of Psychiatrists as a Clinical Exam Organiser, a registrar representative at the Queensland Branch Training Committee, and a presenter at various training events.
Sarah began her work as an Associate Lecturer with the University of Queensland during her training and continues to lecture medical students regularly.
Sarah is passionate about providing quality assessment and care of children and adolescents with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder including Aspergers) as well as Anxiety and Mood Disorders affecting children, adolescents and adults.
